Over 1.35m people are killed on roadways globally, locally in New Zealand over 300 people were killed in 2020.

Road safety advertisements are a tool to reduce the speed, reduce the harm and reduce the toll. Yet, the road toll keeps increasing.

Occlusion is a project born from James Malcolm and is built by Inqyr Consulting aimed improve road safety by giving transport agencies two things:

  • The ability to serve personalised advertisements to those at risk
  • The ability to easily experiment advertisements
  • The ease of deployment of Occlusion.

A by-product of creating an advertising solution was that we enable high-fidelity data collection. Which can be used in urban planning, road planning, maintenance prediction and many more applications.
